Overview

These are axial fans built for rooms and ducts where a flammable atmosphere may be present. The air-moving part is ordinary; the difference is the motor, the enclosure, the cable entries and the marking that ties the unit to a certificate.

Three installation types cover most orders. Wall and frame-mounted units ventilate a room continuously or on demand. Portable units with a frame and trailing cable handle tanks, pits and maintenance work. High-temperature variants take hot gas from ovens and process ducts, where the motor sits outside the airstream.

Choosing between them is a site decision before it is a fan decision: fixed or temporary, wall or duct, normal or elevated temperature. Send the zone, gas group, temperature class and the mounting position, and we will confirm which models have documentation for that combination.

Why Buy From WILMALL

Marking checked against the document

We tell you which marking on the nameplate has to match the certificate, so the unit can be checked on arrival instead of at commissioning.

Installation details supplied

Cable entry, earthing point and terminal arrangement are part of the delivery documentation. A certified fan wired through the wrong gland is no longer compliant.

No invented certifications

If a model has no certificate for the zone you need, we say so. A fan that arrives without the right document is worse than a late order.

Where It Fits

Wall and frame-mounted

Fixed ventilation of a hazardous room or workshop, with a shutter, guard and the motor rated for the zone.

Portable and temporary

Tank, pit and confined-space ventilation during maintenance, with frame, handle and trailing cable.

High-temperature exhaust

Oven, dryer and process duct applications where the airstream is hot and the motor sits outside it.

How to Specify

Fixed or portable

Fixed units are wired into the installation and switched from a safe location. Portable units are moved between jobs and need a cable, plug and frame that survive site conditions. The two are not interchangeable in practice.

Zone, gas group, temperature class

All three have to be covered by the certificate. A fan marked for a lower gas group or a higher temperature class is not a substitute. The classification comes from the area drawing.

Wall opening and shutter

The fan has to fit the opening, and the shutter or guard must not obstruct the airflow or create a spark risk. Check the wall thickness and the fixing method before ordering.

High-temperature variants

Where the airstream is hot, the motor is moved out of the flow and the bearing and insulation change. Give us the gas temperature and the duty cycle, not the room temperature.

Maintenance and spares

Bearings, capacitors and terminal parts have to match the certified configuration. Keep the certificate with the unit and order spares against the model, not against a generic size.

Questions

Which zones can these fans be used in?

Coverage depends on the model and its certificate. Zone 1 and Zone 2 are common for this range. Send the classification and we will confirm which models are documented for it.

Is the fan certified as a complete unit or only the motor?

That is exactly what has to be checked on the certificate. Some documents cover the fan assembly, others only the motor. We point out which applies to the model you order.

Can the fan be supplied with a longer cable?

Only if the change stays inside the certified configuration. Cable length and entry are part of the protection concept, so the change is checked against the document before quoting.

Can it be mounted in a duct?

Axial units are usually wall or frame mounted. For duct installation with pressure, a centrifugal explosion-proof unit is normally the better fit.

What maintenance is required?

Periodic inspection of the enclosure, cable entries and earthing, plus bearing checks. The interval follows the site's inspection regime, not a fixed number from us.

Send the zone, the gas group and the mounting.

Those three answers decide which models can be offered. We will reply with the documentation that exists — and say clearly where it does not.
