Overview

A duct-mounted exhaust fan for kitchen canopies and smoke pipes. The centrifugal wheel handles the pressure of a greasy run with bends, and the housing is arranged so the wheel can be reached for cleaning.

Sizes follow common duct diameters and airflows. Kitchen extract is specified by the hood length, the number of bends and the grease load — not only by the duct size.

Where it fits

  • Restaurant kitchen canopies
  • Smoke pipe runs
  • Food courts and canteens
  • Small commercial kitchens

Selection and installation notes

Grease and cleaning decide the service life. Plan access before installation; a fan that needs dismantling to clean will not be cleaned.

Check the discharge location against nearby windows and intakes. Re-entering smoke is a common complaint after a fan upgrade.

FAQ

Can it be used for a long duct run?

Up to a point. The centrifugal wheel holds more pressure than an axial inline fan, but very long runs still need a larger centrifugal unit.

How do I clean it?

Through the access provided, with the wheel reached and cleaned evenly. Uneven cleaning causes imbalance.

Is a silencer available?

Yes, for the duct. It adds resistance, so include it in the duty calculation.

Which diameter should I choose?

Match the duct, then check the airflow at the system pressure. Reducing the duct to fit a smaller fan costs more than the fan saves.
