Overview
A vortex blower works differently from a fan: a multi-vane impeller runs in a tight ring housing and builds pressure far above what an axial or centrifugal fan can hold. The airflow is lower, but it can push through a small orifice or hold a vacuum.
Typical uses are aeration, air knives, suction holding and pneumatic conveying assist. Because the unit runs at high speed, the inlet filter and the discharge silencer are part of the installation, not accessories.
Where it fits
- Wastewater aeration
- Air knives and blow-off
- Vacuum holding and pick-and-place
- Pneumatic conveying assist

Selection and installation notes
Never run a vortex blower with a blocked inlet or outlet. The motor relies on airflow for cooling and will overheat quickly.
Fit the inlet filter. Dust through a tight clearance ring erodes performance fast, and the loss is not obvious until the pressure drops.
FAQ
How is this different from a centrifugal fan?
It builds much higher pressure at lower airflow, using a ring housing and a multi-vane impeller rather than a scroll.
Does it need a filter?
Yes. Dust wears the impeller clearance, and the pressure falls gradually without any visible fault.
Can it run continuously?
Yes, within its rated duty. Confirm the discharge temperature and the back pressure before running long cycles.
Is a silencer available?
Yes. Vortex blowers are loud, and the silencer is normally specified with the unit.
