Overview
A double inlet fan draws air from both sides of a wide impeller and discharges it through one scroll. Because the air enters twice, the housing can stay narrow while moving a large volume — the reason this shape dominates air handling units.
The range covers several sizes and drive arrangements. Belt drive allows the speed to be trimmed during commissioning, which matters when the duct system is finished after the fan is selected.

Selection and installation notes
State the airflow at the external static pressure. A free-air figure is meaningless in air handling, where coils and filters always add resistance.
Check the available width before ordering. The impeller width follows the airflow, and the housing length follows the impeller.
FAQ
Direct drive or belt drive?
Direct drive for a fixed duty and low maintenance; belt drive where the speed has to be adjusted on site.
Can the discharge direction be changed?
On many designs the scroll can be rotated. Confirm before ordering; it is not a site modification on every model.
Is it suitable for dirty air?
Less than a backward-curved fan. The forward-curved wheel collects dust and loses balance.
How do I size the motor?
From the duty point and the fan efficiency, with margin for a system that turns out more restrictive than expected.
