Overview
A centrifugal blower designed around noise rather than maximum volume: a wider wheel running slower, with a housing that resists resonance. It suits equipment rooms, air handling and ventilation where the fan is close to occupied space.
Several sizes cover different airflow classes. Selection usually starts with the airflow and the acceptable sound level, then checks the pressure the duct system adds.
Where it fits
- Air handling and supply units
- Equipment rooms near work areas
- Drying and curing chambers
- Ventilation where noise is regulated

Selection and installation notes
A slow, wide wheel is quiet at the unit but the duct can still transmit noise. Flexible connectors and a straight discharge section do more than a larger fan.
Check the pressure at the duty point. Low-noise designs often trade pressure for sound, so a restrictive system can move the choice to a different range.
FAQ
How is the noise reduced?
By running a wider wheel slower and stiffening the housing. The result is lower sound pressure at the same airflow class.
Can it be belt driven?
Some sizes are available with belt drive so the speed can be trimmed during commissioning. Confirm per model.
What about pressure?
It holds moderate pressure. For long ducts or dense filters, check the duty point carefully or move to a backward-curved fan.
Is a silencer needed?
Often not at the unit, but the duct may still need one. Plan attenuation on the discharge if the outlet is near occupied space.
